Alyssa Batastini

I am a second year Curriculum & Instruction doctoral student at the University of South Florida in the Elementary Education department. My research interests include educational policy, professional development schools, arts based research as a qualitative method and the arts/achievement connection in elementary students. I teach middle school social studies in Florida.

I have been a professional tap dancer for over 10 years teaching and choreographing across the country. As a faculty member and program coordinator with the DC Tap Festival, I have been able to use tap dance to bring together dancers from across the globe in celebration of tap dance.
